The Friday Marathon and Half
Marathon both finish near Spooner Lake. The Lakeside Half starts and joins the
Marathoners at Lakeside Beach at the half way mark of the Emerald Bay Marathon course.
The Marathon course starts at 6800' and goes down to lake level at 6230 before
rising again at about the 23 mile mark up to 7000'.
Buses will take you to the
start line of the Emerald Bay Marathon, but you are responsible for your own
post race transportation. A support crew is strongly suggested for your
transportation needs, encouragement, nutrition and picture taking.
The Friday Lakeside Half
Marathon starts at Lakeside Beach and finishes at the Spooner Lake-Hwy 28
junction. s
The Saturday
Cal-Neva Marathon is the fastest
of the 3 marathons with the first 11 mile basically down hill from the start in
the parking lot at the intersection of H50 & H28 and running north to Incline
Village. The Cal Neva Marathon ends in Tahoe City above Commons Beach. The first half of the
Marathon is in Nevada and the second half is in California.
The Nevada Half Marathon ends at the north end of
Lakeshore Blvd in Incline Village. The views of each of these races are
incredible. The Cal-Neva Marathon starts at about 7000' and ends in Tahoe City
at lake level, 6230'.
The Friday and Saturday Marathons
are each run basically half in CA and half in NV. Either of these races can be
counted for either state in your quest to run all 50 states.
These
two marathon and half marathons are part of the
Triple Marathoner or the Tahoe Trifecta. There is a different finishers medal
for each race, each day, finishers license plate holders and tech shirts will be awarded.
There is an overall award for each of these races, but no age division or other
awards will be given to these boutique races.
There will be at
least six Aid Stations along both
marathon routes Aid stations are approximately every 5 miles.
Post Race transportation is not
included. You will need transportation after the Friday and Saturday races.
You may sign up for a post race shuttle on Friday or Saturday.
The race
shuttle buses will leave from near the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel race morning to
the start lines are 3 days. You will need to arrange your own transportation after the
Friday and Saturday races.
